Chili Mix
Most American grocery stores sell little single-use packets of instant spice mix for seasoning chile con carne. This recipe is for a homemade version of the chili spice.

- dehydrated onion, minced or powdered1 tbsp
- seasoning salt2 tsp
- cumin powder2 tsp
- cayenne pepper or ancho chilli pepper, ground red cayenne pepper or crushed/powdered ancho chilli pepper1–2 tsp
- dried oregano1 tsp
- ground black pepper1 tsp
- salt1/2 tsp
- dehydrated garlic, minced or powdered1/2 tsp
- ground cinnamon1/2 tsp
Quantities are auto-calculated from the original recipe as a guide. Items without numbers (e.g. “to taste”) are not changed.
Method 2 steps
Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight jar.
Use 1–3 tablespoons of Chili Mix per 1 lb of meat (to taste).
